Magsafe is a great addition for 15W 'wireless' charger but will apple ever enable data transfers through magsafe? They could essentially get rid of charging ports, not to mention all cars would have 'wireless' CarPlay, all you'd need is a massage puck hidden somewhere in your car's console.

Any thought?

I was under the impression that it doesn’t transfer data at all just wireless charging. The data transmission can be done with NFC or Bluetooth already.

Understood, but wouldn't magsafe be perfect for data transfer? I'm sure it can be done if they really wanted to

I can imagine that all the magnetic flux generated by MagSafe would seriously interfere with any data transfer traveling through the same circuitry or even the same general part of the phone.
