I just bought the iPhone 4S and I want to use it for both personal and work email accounts. Is it possible to have a signature that's unique to my work account?

I don't want to use my "work signature" when I'm sending personal emails.

Thanks!

P.S. This is my first iPhone, so the learning curve is a bit steep...

Pfft, I thought the iPhone "just works"? Email specific signatures seems like a no-brainer, too bad it isn't supported.

It does just work. Just because you want a feature that would be used by a minimal amount of people doesn't mean the phone doesn't work. It just means you're not getting what you want.

Yeah.... I love my iPhone, don't get me wrong, but iOS is in its fifth major revision and there's still no "Mark all as read" option for e-mail. :( With these sorts of things, Apple is kind of unpredictable. Many people thought they would never release a multi-button mouse, but then one day, after some 20 years of resisting, they just went and did it.

(Oh, also, there are probably better options under Jailbreaking, such as Mail Enhancer, but you'll have to decide if you want to go that route for yourself).

This is the main reason I haven't upgraded to iOS5... the lack of multiple email signatures. I use my iPhone for personal use as well as work and I DEFINITELY need to have those seperate signatures. I currently use Mail Enhancer and it's great... but only for jailbroken phones. Maybe when there is a stable jailbreak for iOS5 and it is confirmed that the app works then I'll upgrade but until then I am satisfied where I am at.

Respectfully disagree :D :D - IMHO there are plenty of people that have both work and personal email accounts, and depend on being able to use both from their iphone. This is one little thing that has been a big irritation of mine since my first iphone 3 years ago.

A handful of people? I know a lot of people with iPhones, and only 1 of them doesn't have their work and personal emails setup on it, and that is only because that person has a company issued BB.

No, you can't. But...

You can set up "shortcuts" in your phone and then just sign off with whichever one is appropriate.

Use "ww" to expand to your work signature.
Use "pp" to expand to your personal signature.

uh huh huh - he said "peepee".
