Hi all.

I use MS Outlook on my mac and have for decades, with a primary reason I have a lot of folders and subfolders set up for inbound emails.

I cannot sync those folders with the iPhone apple mail application (I can with MS Outlook for the iphone, but it is dedicated to work emails and I don't want personal and work emails in the same app container).

My email domain is google/gmail, and I use a different one for work that is imap, perhaps that is part of the issue where google does not allow for the syncing of folders ("labels" as google calls them)?

Is there a mail app client alternative that can show folders and sync them with my desktop computer?

What you're describing makes me think your "folders and subfolders set up for inbound emails" are under the "On My Computer" heading in Outlook on your Mac. Is that the case?

That is correct. Basically, I'm looking for a way to sync what is on the hard drive across other devices, something apple seems to have achieved with Contacts, Keychain and Calendar, but not with other applications, esp 3rd party ones. It was a major reason I bought a macbook pro instead of a studio for home and a macbook air for travel - no easy way to sync the two computers' data.

Contacts, Keychain and Calendar are synced via the iCloud system…which is in the cloud, of course. Your MS Outlook "On My Computer" emails are not in the cloud anywhere and Apple isn't going to start syncing them anytime soon.

If it were me and I really needed to see them everywhere I'd pay Google for more storage and then put them back into folders that are under the Gmail account.

This isn't going to save you space, however.

Another idea is to pay Google, put the emails there, then stop using Outlook and use the Gmail web portal. This will be the same on every computer and can save all the space your email is taking.

Alternative to paying Google, or anyone else, is to create enough free accounts to hold all those "on my computer" emails.
