iPhone mail notification icon question

I noticed that if I get a new e-mail on both the desktop and iPhone at the same time (Push), that if I check the mail from the desktop, the mail icon still shows a 1 next to it on the iPhone and it won't go away until I open it.

If I check it on the iPhone first, it marks it as read on the desktop without an issue.

Is this normal?

the icon will stay there until your iphone syncs up with mobileme again. it happens much faster on the computer because the sync much more often

It takes about 15 Min for the sync from your desktop to mobile me.
