iPhone major updateto come with new iPods?

Just speculating; it seems like the iPhone is missing a lot of features that normal ipods have, for example search and smart playlists. So maybe if the new iPods come out and are fullscreen they should probably have those features, and if they already have them so why not put it in the iPhone?

iTunes update will most likely come out if we see new iPods. Would love to see some iPhone updates bundled along with that. Rumors are already floating around about ringtones showing back up in iTunes for the iPhone.

I hope there is some type of iPhone update, although the rumours seem to suggest it'll be regarding a new generation of iPods.

9to5mac.com seems to have been right about the nanos and they give a description of the new iPod on their website also appleinsider also claims they will be touch

Im on the brink of buying an 8 gig iPhone now that I can (soon) unlock it and use it in Canada.

This is crazy. I want an iPhone, but a touch iPod would be ridiculous too.

in a dream world, there would be an iphone major update that included new features and cosmetic changes, but chances are slim. i expect this will be all about the ipod and itunes. the only thing that could lead to an iphone update would be, like you said, apple updates the ipod software in the iphone.
