Hi there, i have a jailbroken iPhone 3G and installed the iPhone Modem 2 today and installed the help program on my Mini laptop running windows Xp. They both manage to connect but thats all i get, i cannot get any Internet connection and the information bar for what data is being used stays at 0.

I then installed the helper app on my Windows Vista laptop and it connected and let me connect to the net, the bar moved showing connectivity.

Any idea's what the problem could be?

I have restarted, re installed and cleaned the reg each time. Also created a new user account and chosen a different install directory and still does the same thing.

Thanks for reading.

Did Anyone Figure It Out?

Hi,

Did anyone get iPhone Modem 2 working? Mine connects but the computer says "waiting for iPhone"

I paid $10 for this , so hopefully there is an answer.

Thanks.

PdaNet works quite well...but anyone else hear about this sketchy iPhone Modem thing? Just curious at this point.

PDANet

Yeah, sorry. I don't know much about iPhone modem 2. I downloaded PDANet and loved it. It's free too.

The Fix

This has happened to me and the problem is the ip addresses don't match so if you take a look at the ip address on your phone where it says wifi copy that and open up Network Pref. Click Advance and go to proxies then paste it on Web Proxy, Secure Web Proxy, and SOCKS Proxy save the settings your iphone and the app on the computer will not show connection between the two devices but you will have internet access. Thats a mac fix.

cheers

Thanks enzoz, that worked straight away.
Just a question, do you need to buy a copy of iphone modem to use it properly?
Thanks
