Hey all...

Hopefully someone in here can assist with this....

This is happening with my mother's iPhone 12 and her Apple Watch SE, and I am at my wits end trying to figure out why its going what its doing.....

If you send a text to her phone, you'll hear the text tone on her watch but nothing is happening on her iPhone. Now I know that this seems to be the way its intended, so that you'll get the alert on your watch and then look at your phone, but this is even happening when she is not wearing her watch and you send a txt to her phone. This does not seem ideal because if you are asleep and you're not wearing your watch you may not hear this text tone. If I shut off her phone's BT, then all messages (sounds and previews) will display on her phone which I assume makes sense since the phone no longer sees her watch, again this is not ideal.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro with an Apple watch 6 and when someone texts me I am getting a vibrating pulse on my watch, but I am also getting the notification to pop up on my screen on my iPhone and I have looked through settings on my phone while hers was right next to mine and I could not find a single difference in settings, aside from my watch being on silent mode.

If anyone in here has any ideas on what I can try, I'd really appreciate it.

Reboot both devices

Phone > Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > make sure her phone number is listed first and ticked, along with her primary Apple ID address Start Conversation from > should have her phone number ticked and that is it.

Settings > Watch app > Make sure it is set to mirror phone for messages etc.

Try a reset network settings on the phone.
Try reset all settings on the phone.

** After trying option 2 or 3, you will have to re-enter wifi passwords and reset the Home Screen back to the way it was etc. Options 2 -3 will restore the respective default settings.

Thank You!!!

Resetting the network settings on the phone did the trick! Not sure why that fixed it, but it did...
