iPhone not appearing in iTunes

Hello,
I have a 2G iPhone on TMobile. I used pwnage tool to jailbreak the phone. I'm using 2.2.1 software on my iPhone, and iTunes 8.1. I recently updated to Mac os 10.5.6 from 10.4.11. My iPhone doesn't appear when I plug it into iTunes under devices.

Any ideas?

This is often a problem caused by the USB cable or port.

Try using a different cable
Try plugging it into a different USB port
Try plugging it in via a powered hub

If they don't work, see if a Windows PC will recognise it
