i've got an iPhone about a month ago. when the battry is too low that it turns off if i try to turn it on, it says that the battry is too low, but when i'm listening to music for a long time, suddenly it turns off and when i try to turn it on, there's nothing saying that the battry is to low, or any sign that it's alive :D and even when i try to charge it, there's no sign that i can understand it's charging
now it's the 2nd time this is happening, last time after about 5mins charging it was on again, but right now it's been charging (i guess cause there's nothing showing that it's charging) for half an hour and still there's no sign :(
what's wrong with my iPhone? do iPhones charge while powered off?

I'm confused. Your title says "iPhone not charging", but your post seems to contradict this.

Does the battery in your iPhone charge?

As a note - li-ion batteries (like in the iPhone) can take a while to show they're charging if they have been left discharged for a long period, but I don't think that would be the case here.

i don't know if it's charging or not, just that it's been plugged in for a long time and still it doesn't turn on. and this happens only when i'm listening to music and it suddenly turns off. what should i do? :(

I'd love to help but I'm still a bit confused.

The iPod doesn't turn on, but it only does it when you're listening to music... but wouldn't the iPod be on for you to listen to music??

Maybe I'm being a bit thick.

Have you tried charging from both the mains adaptor and your USB on your computer?

thanks :D
it's an iPhone not iPod.
when it's been playing music for a long time and the battery is finished, it just stops working. trying to turn it on has no effect. the display remains black.
i've tried both of them.

(sorry for bad english)

Sorry - I knew it was an iPhone!

If you've been using the iPhone for a long period, the battery will become exhausted and will need recharging. Plug it into the USB (whilst your computer is ON) or mains and it will start to charge - however, it may take up to ten minutes or so for the display to show that it is charging.

This is because of the type of battery the iPhone has.
