My phone has been really lagging on hooking up with local WiFi.
Spots that I frequent, used to just pop up and I'd be on. Now I wait n wait then goto settings and browse, there it is, click then it connects.

Did a full restore and still same. Anyone else?

Plus now my iTunes doesn't see my phone?? Weirdnessness

I find that periodic powering down cures most of what ails the iPhone. Something about refreshing the cells you connect to. Shrug!

OP, that is exactly what I'm experiencing with this iPhone (#2). My first one I had for about a month w/out this issue. I got this one Aug 29th and it's already showed these exact symptoms. When I went in to a Genius, he told me to just do a factory restore. All that did for me was to make me have to reset all my Mail settings, p/w, and encrypted wifi p/w. :p

I have yet to bring it back in to say a factory restore didn't do the trick.

I've been having the same problems also. I think since the last update.

I have several wi-fi locations stored in my iPhone. At home (where the signal is really strong) I have no problem. But, in some other locations (like the local coffee shop) it SEES the wi-fi but always prefers EDGE.

It wasn't like this 2 weeks ago.

What's bad... is that EDGE is terrible. I already want a way to turn off EDGE. Now... I'm finding myself using it more than before. At the local coffee shop I can't use their wi-fi anymore? rrrrr.

I'm eager for the 3rd iPhone software update. I assume they'll fix this. I'm also HOPING they quickly give us a way to turn off EDGE. Until they do, my phone is staying in the USA.
