For some reason, my iPhone doesn’t show up as a selection on my iPad Pro to Airplay to that device (or vice versa). Everything else shows up — MacBook, other TVs, etc. Both are set up identically and are on the same network. Both are running iOS 17.

Any thoughts?
 
Yeah I don’t think you can, never seen my iPad or iPhone show up as an AirPlay device.
 
No, it is not possible to AirPlay from iPhone to iPad (or vice versa) You can AirPlay from your iPhone/iPad to a Mac, and an Apple TV, or a smart TV with Airplay function.
 
I’ve seen my iPad appear as an AirPlay option on other iDevices, and did a small attempt to try it. I recall there being an alert something along the lines of “Make sure your iPad is plugged in.” Disappointingly, even when I connected my iPad to power, the feature still didn’t seem to function.
