So, after using my iPhone for six months with no problems, I connected it to my PowerBook tonight to add some music, and iTunes won't see it. It doesn't even start charging even tho' it will from a wall charger. I tried restarting iTunes, the Mac and the 'Phone, but it's just not showing up or charging. The only change I've made is installing iTunes 8.2 just before. Could this be the problem? Any help that can be offered will be much appreciated. Cheers, all.

Can you plug any other USB devices in? It could be a USB port issue. Have you tried a PRAM reset -- command, option, P, R while booting machine?

Not USB...

I have a large external drive connected to one port, and the 'Phone goes into the other, and I shut down, swapped over and restarted with the same result. I can't avoid the feeling that installing iTunes 8.2 has something to do with it. The last time I connected the phone, around two weeks ago, it worked perfectly, and nothing has changed since then, as the Mac hasn't been used 'til last night, when I upgraded iTunes just before I connected the phone. I'll try the PRAM reset later, and see if that does anything. Cheers for the suggestion.

Ok, thanks for that. I'll try that a bit later on. Appreciate the feedback and help, guys, the nearest Apple store that's open on a Sunday's thirty miles away, and I'd rather be out on my bike
