Does such a sim card exist?

I searched AT&T and T-Mobile and none seem to have Data.... wanna be able to get on Facebook.... lol!!

Well I heard that 02 didn't actually unlock it but rather made it limited to any official iPhone carrier...so AT&T is your best bet...plus they have supier coverage. Both have data add ons in either 100 or 200mb sizes. T-Mobile is cheaper though and they have unlimted data but idk if they will work.

Well you heard wrong.

Once O2 have passed the details to Apple and the phone is on their database as unlocked, you can put any SIM in it.

I used AT&T GoPhone Pay As You Go service with the 100MB data package ($19.99) for a while about 4 months ago. I'm pretty sure it's still available, however I'd check on their website to make sure.

yeah.. i'd go with the AT&T GoPhone with data, but, if you are running 3.1 you will need to install a profile that enables the data to work, because AT&T do state that they don't support iPhone on a PAYG plan..

How do you install the profile? My iPhone is unlocked but not jailbroken.

I'm off to the US soon and want to be able to use Google Maps etc so will need data.

I would like to know which carrier file to install as well. I have an unlocked iPhone 3G and am considering going back to at&t with a pay-as-you-go plan to save some money. $120/month is just too expensive.

IIRC, you're gonna need to change the data APNs. If you have your phone unlocked, you should be able to do this in settings.

Found this link for carrier settings... don't know if it works: http://www.unlockit.co.nz/#_Custom

Remember, AT&T doesn't stop your data once you are over 100MB. If you go over, expect to burn through your accounts balance in a few hours if you use data.

AT&T don't allow their GoPhone data packages to be used on iPhones anymore. As of August they did but when I visited the US again in September and October they no longer do. You can still dial 611 and get a data package but your iPhone will tell you that there's no data connection available - when you call AT&T they will tell you the data package can't be used on the iPhone and won't refund you your 20 dollars either!!

Just for the record I'm just back from the US having used www.mrsimcard.com to get a PAYG T-mobile SIM with Data on my iPhone. Worked perfectly. Card cost equivalent of about £55 for a month and then I paid $10 for the International Calling Option. Where I was, I got great T-mobile coverage just about everywhere (LA/Palm Springs) although your experience may vary. Data was fast, only minor hassle was having to manually change the APN on inserting the T-mobile SIM. Gave me a US phone number when I was out there which was handy for booking restaurants etc. International Calling Option gave me 6c/minute calls back to the UK, useful for Christmas phone calls etc.

Very happy and would use them again.

No, you're right, it is a messy site but the service I had was fine including a text the day after activation to make sure that everything was OK.

The iPhone SIM cards are here:

Looks like they have updated it a bit since I bought mine in that they now advertise two US iPhone SIM cards, one with and one without Discounted International Dialling. When I bought mine there was only the $80 standard one, and I added $15 of credit myself, of which I used $10 to enable the DID option - the more expensive card looks like better value if you'll be doing a lot of international calling since it looks like you get $25 DID credit without having to spend the $10 to enable it.
