So apparently sellers are already listing iPhones on e-bay as if they have them and strangely yet not surprisingly enough, people are already bidding over MSRP of the phone.

An iPhone for sale! Wait... No actual pictures? Very generic, copied specs? Hmm... Its pretty obvious that this seller plans on walking in, picking up an iPhone before the auction ends and then profiting off of it.

My questions is why would someone be stupid enough to bid over MSRP on an auction of the iPhone that ends in 6+ days when the launch is tomorrow???

Could be someone having fun, bidding it up just to wait until tomorrow and see if they can get one at retail... and they will, and then stiff the eBay crook.

Or they could just want to stiff the eBay crook no matter what.

Or they could just be stupid. There is a sucker born every minute!

Awesome deal, the seller has >88% positive feedback, and as you mentioned no real pics. Yet people are bidding?

I give this auctions life... 3 hours.

ebay will remove this item shortly. At the begining of the month people were already listing them as pre-sales only and were fetching over $1000 for them. Ebay decided to step in and make a policy regarding the iphone and they said no more pre-sales will be honered and on the day of the launch if you list the iphone for sell you have to have an actual pic of it with your Ebay id in the pic. Just fyi

I just bid it up a bit. It runs 6 more days. Let's all just pop a bid or two on this and get it into unrealistic territory and save some poor soul.

There- I just bid it up over 900- that should keep people away.

My guess is Bidder 5 is a new account, and has bid 10,000 on this to jerk the crook around a bit.

Wow, you've never seen someone try to rip someone off on Ebay?

I just bid it up to 1200.... come on, lets all have some fun! Lets cost the crook some $$$ :D

I just sent this guy a message and asked for proof that he has the phone. I'm now waiting for him to send me a pic of the phone with some random numbers that I chose dialed in. Of course, it'll probably just be a photochop.

Well, here are the pics. You judge for yourself if it's real or not. They are the numbers I gave him.

hahaha, that's funny. i hope someone falls for that.

Someone tried selling me that exact same phone a few weeks ago at a mall, and he had no idea he was dealing with an Apple expert. He said it came "straight from China" ... They release in the US first!! And he said other things to me that I knew were totally false and I told him that. The sad thing is is that I know someone will be stupid enough to buy that phone from him.

Some have been canceled, a lot are still going on (twice as many now as earlier).

I wonder what the the requirements are to get an iphone listing canceled since none of them, technically, are supposed to be listed yet.

Hmmm,
maybe I should wait in line after all...Couple hundred for standing in line isn't bad. But sellers also have to be careful of NPB

Dude- ask for a picture of the BOX!!!!!

Link to the e-bay action, please, I would like to mess with this guy/crook
