Any one who is interested i just called O2 about my tariff. After figuring out my contract finished in Feb 2010 i was then asked if i wanted to upgrade. I said no i would wait for the new iphone if there will be one. The upgrade team said to me that they didnt have confirmation on the release date yet.

To me thats promising, i no its pretty much 80% guaranteed that a new phone is coming out but that sealed it for me.

Anyway i then found out that if you contract is over and your just waiting for the new iphone or any phone you can get your contract tariff cut. Mine was £46 now its £20, i get 300 mins and unlimited everything else. Worth a shot for anyone that is out of contract and didnt know this was possible. :)

Er... I think you'll find that you are now tied into a new (possibly 2 year) contract!

Did they say it was specifically a rolling contract? I'd check that out if I was you.

I just lowered my tariff from 35 a month to 25 but made sure I wasnt signing into a new long term contract as I still have a year to go anyway and didnt want them tacking on another year.

Since the iPhone has come along the phone companies are much less like robbing ******* and the contracts these days are much more flexible. :) But still make sure they haven't tied you in!

They are just transfering you to the standard Sim only iPhone deal.

It's been about for the last 6months.

They also do this for any customer coming out of contract and not wanting to upgrade.

It's a rolling 30day package which you can cancel at anytime.

It's only been getting better since they opened the iPhone up to more networks. ;)

Yes, it's one of the Simplicity for iPhone tariffs.

It's a good deal, just watch out if you use a lot of MMS or text from abroad a lot, someone else posted on here about it, on the original iPhone tarriffs your foreign texts and MMS's counted as 4 texts, now you have to pay 25p for each one.
For me its brilliant cos I never send MMS and don't use phone much when abroad, but if you use these services a lot it could potentially work out more expensive.

Cheers for the tip pauliphone, i didnt ask about that.

Sorry should have been more clear. I opted for the rolling contract option, if i had gone for the year fix term option would have got more minutes and paid less but obviously tied in to the contract.

My aim is to wait for the iphone 4g?!? and upgrade.

Pain that O2 didnt ring and pester me for an upgrade like they used to with other phones i had. Been out of contract for a few months, so wasted about £60 on a tariff i didnt need, oh well least its sorted now!

Mine expired in January, I'm just patiently waiting. Still trying to decide if I should go back to Vodafone or stick with o2
