I have friend that is about to buy an iPhone and use on tmobile. Are there any features that don't work on that carrier? Vvm, YouTube, etc? Any info would be great. Thanks.

main difference

is you will not get 3G on t-mobile yes they have it but it's a different frequency you will get edge though and youtube and all other features including sms/mms work fine. you can google iphone t-mobile and find allot of info. ;)

I have a 2G on T-Mobile. I still can't get MMS, though...ActivateMMS isn't in Cydia anymore.
Not sure if that woulda even worked on a 2G anyway.

I setup MMS on my friend's 2G - works like a charm. I'm using an unlocked 3GS on T-Mobile right now and the things I lost are:

- 3G (expected, different frequency)
- Visual Voicemail (also expected)
- YouTube (Push fix + youtube did not work, but I don't use it that often)
- Push Notifications (Push fix did not work, but I'm not hurting from it)

How? I've seen 5 different ways listed, and NONE have worked for me.
APN settings do not even have an MMS option anywhere on my phone.

What are you saying?

Are you saying you don't know what visual voicemail is ? VVM ?

It's what happens on your iPhone when you are on AT&T and someone leaves you a voicemail (Hint: it is downloaded to your phone so you can access it right on the phone)

How did you lose Push?

I've been on T-mobile with my 3G and have had push all way through. (I'm still using OS3.0)

MMS works great, Youtube.

Visual voicemail and 3G are what i lost, but i don't live in a 3G area so no biggy. V-VM i don't care about.

Download the T-mobile IPCC from the interwebs.

last week mine got screwed up, I couldn't receive MMS but could send. Called Tmo but didn't get help. Found out I had to get new IPCC

enter the source sinfuliphonerepo.com and then get Enable MMS for 2G & 3.1.2 (there is also one for 3.0.1)

It works! Im using it!
