iphone or ipod touch? current verizon.

I really want an iphone but when the new ipod touch came out now i dont know what to do. I'm currently with verizon and have a contract but its only $130 to cancel (which I'm willing to pay to have the iphone). The only thing I want the iphone for that the ipod touch doesnt have is edge. I want to be able to access the internet more than when i can find an open wifi network. The only problem is I have verizon, which has great service, while in my area at&t has decent coverage but not the best.

Any thoughts or suggestions would really help.

If I had waited this long from launch and I had to pay $130 to get out of my contract, I would wait for v2.0 and probably just get a touch if I had to buy something.
