iPhone or iSlate

I can't decide wether to get the iphone or not when apple is also going to be announcing the iSlate tomorrow that is going to run off the same type of OS as an iphone
(there are already big sites up with the islate name like iSlate Forum so itll probably be called that) and based on what i read its going to be like an iphone but bigger and better and on verizons network. Will it be worth getting the iSlate and iPhone both? or jst the salte and save my money by getting a cheap phone?

Why don't you just wait 5 more hours and then you will be able to answer this question yourself. Unless you need to make a decision right this minute. If that's the case, go buy the iSlate....oh WAIT. You can't!

Do you want the iPhone primarily because it's a phone, with applications and other media extensions as a secondary consideration?

If so, then you won't want the iSlate (or whatever they call it) because its form factor almost certainly will not lend itself to convenient use as a phone handset. Some rumours also say that it would use its cellular connection for 3G data only, and wouldn't have any built-in capability to use the cell company's voice network at all. (This is already the case with netbooks that are sold with ties to cellular service providers, as well as existing tablet form factor devices such as the Amazon Kindle.) Additionally, it almost certainly will be larger than an iPhone, and therefore not as easy to slip in your pocket and carry everywhere.

I can see the iSlate (or whatever they call it) complementing, rather than replacing, the iPhone.

lol well the iphone is a totally different device since its main function is to make phone calls. I think you would be better off deciding between a tablet or an ipod touch.

the main function of a phone is to CONTACT

but a Slate/Pad/Tablet is to work just like other computer but in another form

you gotta know WHAT you need, not just which apple product you wanna buy.

I wish that the tablet would be able to be used as a phone, lol. I know that it would be stupid to use by holding it against your head, but what about the headphones? huh?! I bet Apple hasn't thought about that! That way we don't have to be roped into another contract!
