Other iPhone order is trade in value locked in?

If I order an iPhone just now and trade in my old iPhone through Apple, but the new phone is not delivered until the end of October is the trade is value locked in until then or could it go down?

Per my experience, trade-in value is locked according to traded iPhone type, for example trade in value for iPhone 14 pro is different from iPhone 13 Pro, trade in value for iPhone 13 Pro is different from iPhone 12 Pro, etc. These values will change when a new iPhone is released in September next year.
