Hello, just wanted to share some news with you guys. I became a registered developer today, and am currently running the iPhone 4.0 Beta on my phone. This OS is awesome, and for those of you who want to update to it, then you are going to enjoy it! Its great. I love it. You guys already saw what Apple had to say yesterday so I wont repeat it, but let me just tell you, you will love it! Oh and heres a tip...Don't reset your homescreen layout if you have folders... -.-

Hey, I have a few questions about OS 4.0 and being a dev.

1. Did you have to pay to become a developer? On the Apple website you can register for a free iPhone developer account, but I don't know if it gives you the same privileges.

2. Did you have to install OS 4.0 using Xcode, or can it be done through iTunes (alt + restore)?

3. How many apps can you have to a folder?

4. If it ain't too much of a pain. . . can you register my UDID for 4.0 beta please, so that I can enjoy its awesomeness too? :)

yes in order to get the 4.0 anything the sdk or just for ur phone u have to be a paid developer. second i personally used x-code because on the dev site they told us to. third i think i only made one folder so im guna guess 6. and fourth no i will not register u.

You need to pay Apple $100 per year to have full developer privileges. In the folder, you can have around 20 apps. I can't remember but its quite a few. I cannot add your UDID to my account for free, since I am trying to make money to support my charges, fees, equipment, review items, and giveaways. I have a subscription thing where you can sign up on my site. But I don't really know if I'm allowed to advertise that here.

also 4.0 is sick but there are some bugs mine include: first my camera role photos got deleted , second the compass wont work, third the maps app takes forever to locate u but the map itself loads super fast, and last the wifi bars are wrong sometimes but doesn't mater because its still super fast

Awesome? Feature wise yes there are some nice things in there. In terms of stability? Well I wouldn't be calling this release a Beta, more like an Alpha release.

There are wifi issues, various apps crash, including built in apps, and the email functionality is totally out of wack - receive a new email - delete it, refresh again, and the same email comes back as a new email.

Needless to say I'm disappointed with the stability of this release. If you only want to install the 4 beta on your phone just to see what all the fuss is about - wait for the next release.

Ok, I'm going to renew. I will sign you on for OS beta testing for free. Just wait until next week, since I'm not at home. I'll probably renew on Monday then inform you. Watch my signature :)
