Hi all

I bought this iPhone 3GS from China (it's cheaper) but apparently its not an iPhone.
It has the same interface and the hardware but the OS is different (Some Chinese s***).

Is there any way i can change the OS to the apple OS?

Lots of the functions are missing such as Wi-Fi, and web browser, and YouTube.
The software has a different iPod interface which is really crappy.
The memory is, instead of 32gb which it says on the back, 2gb.

Thanks

No you can't. The hardware is never identical on those units either. They come as they are. In my opinion they aren't worth the money.

So there is no way i can change the OS?
For some reason the are two hard drives on the phone. Can i install the OS on one of them or something?

You bought a fake chinese knockoff and expect to turn it with software to an iphone?
Thats not going to happen, the hardware components are not the same. The only thing that is the same is the shell of the phone and the box. Besides that its worthless.

Dude, this is a really crappy OS that makes no sense. Everything is messed up.
iTunes can't recognize the iPhone.

Well this was a waste of money.
I bought this phone for the Wi-Fi and for the MP3 storage

Out of the 32GB that it should have as it says on the back of the phone, it only has 2GB and there is no Wi-Fi. WTF

I am never buying anything from dhgate again.

Well of course. It's a cheap Chinese knock off. You should have expected this.

Well i should have known that $300 USD this was going to be a piece of crap

You should have learned a lesson. If it seems to good to be true, it is.

Well said. I had a friend try to tell me he bought a brand new 32GB 3GS iphone for $150.
When I saw it while the iphone was turned off, the box, iphone, acesssories etc..everything looked just like the real thing. As soon as you turned it on you could tell by the UI it was a fake. A really good fake, thats for sure.
Is this what you have op? http://www.dhgate.com/fast-shipping...black/p-ff8080812384964c012398b2954e65e9.html

Cause i live in Canada and a 32GB iPhone cost around $500-600.

You bought a HiPhone which is a cheap Chinese knock up of the iPhone. You will never be able to run iPhone OS on it.

Anyone know where i can at least get some apps for this hiphone.
