I have a theory of the iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch OS (can we just call this OS X Touch already?) and how I think it'll be developed.
I see 3.2 as an iPad only stop-gap. Providing the features for the iPad which 4.0 will be built upon.
4.0 will be released with the new iPhone, bringing over the wallpaper enabled home screen and tweaked applications (Safari, Mail and Calendar) based on the new iPad versions on a smaller scale and perhaps features like multitasking and flash that people seem to really want.
Then the devices will share the same timescale, with 4.1 being released on all devices simultaneously.
Is this more or less what's expected to happen, or am I way off?
