Was already posted in the Jailbreak forum (well, not this link specifically, but the topic in general). Jailbreak topics are usually posted there, not in the general iPhone forum.

This is using and old exploit, which is why it's 3G only right now. But it's good for the JB devs to get their apps ready for the official launch. It was pretty painful last year for everyone to wait for their favorite JB apps to be 3.0 compatible.

Hey, people can here can be excited to that it looks like some decent progress is being made. I also recall reading that some people said they didn't want to upgrade to 4.0 till they can JB, so now you know you might not have to wait too long.

Forums are sectioned off for a reason.

Should I post the link for the revised Macbook Pros because some iPhone users might be interested in them? No.

Didn't see a topic on this. Looks like we might not have to wait long at all when the new phones come out to be able to jailbreak em. If anyone here is a JB app developer, get on that!
most likely wont have to wait long with new iPhone but this jailbreak is 3G phones only and is in no way a reflection on unreleased new iPhone 4, it cant jailbreak the 3Gs as it's a hardware based exploit which apple fixed in the 3Gs where as 3G devices are fine
