I searched the site, and couldn't find a simple enough answer. I apologize if there are, and I just couldn't locate it. How can I sync my iPhone with Outlook (calendar and contacts)?

Are you looking to do this without iTunes? I have the same problem with my dad. He is one of those people who won't download anything but the essentials and he doesn't find iTunes necessary which is why he won't buy an iPhone for himself. If I could find a way to manage an iPhone without iTunes I would have him sold on one in a heartbeat, but for now it's iTunes or nothing. If only Apple would come out with an iPhone management software for the businessperson who doesn't want songs or videos on their iPhone, just contacts and calendar. Just allow the app to sync the iPhone with iCal and Address Book or Outlook and update the firmware. Sorry to jack your thread though, just answer the first question and I'll help you out.

I just want to know if I can sync my iPhone with Outlook in any way? And if so, how? The university I work at uses Outlook for appointments, so I really need compatability with Outlook. I previously had a Windows Treo which was compatable, but obviously was unreliable, always crashing, didn't sync effectively, etc.

Is there anything with Exchange? I don't even know what that is, but I seem to recall something about that when the 3G was released.

I too have been looking for a solution without iTunes so I can sync my work calendar...but I finally gave in and just downloaded it, dont tell IT! :p

that seems pretty simple. so what are other people's questions about this? is it being able to keep everything updated OTA instead of updating each time you plug your iphone into your computer?
