From Wikipedia:
In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.[2] The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of appreciating beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete" in nature.[3] It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence (三法印, sanbōin), specifically impermanence (無常, mujō), suffering (苦, ku) and emptiness or absence of self-nature (空, kū).Characteristics of wabi-sabi aesthetics and principles include asymmetry, roughness, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and the appreciation of both natural objects and the forces of nature.
Examples of this in iPhones:
- Original iPhone
- Original iPhone from Designed by Apple book
- iPhone 7 Plus jet black
- iPod Video back
- iPhone 5 black
- iPhone X/XS space grey

If you have or currently do use your iPhone without a case (or with one) and the device has picked up some character (similar to leather cases in the Patina Proud thread), share pictures of your phone here!It is understable that many people will keep their iPhone in pristine condition so that they can maximize their resale value when it's time to upgrade.
But for those that don't, I think it's beautiful to see how their iPhones age over time, which is why I have started this thread.
