My Objective is to control and play a Sonos PLAY:1 using one iPhone, no other devices in the mix. I have my iPhone set up as a Personal Hotspot and have the PLAY:1 connected to the Personal Hotspot. If I connect a second iPhone to the Personal Hotspot, I can connect to and control the PLAY:1 using the Sonos app. I would like to be able to use the Sonos app on the first iPhone, which is acting as the Personal Hotspot. The Sonos app will not connect on the first iPhone. I believe this is because the device with the Personal Hotspot is not on the same LAN as the devices connected to the Personal Hotspot. If there any app out there or any trick to get the Personal Hotspot device talking to other devices connected to it? I am hard headed and want to do it this way. I know I could add a travel router in the mix etc., but I don't want to do that. Two devices only iPhone and PLAY:1.
