This may very well have a lot to do with iPhoto than the iPhone, but since they originate from the iPhone I figure thats where the name comes from.

I'm not a fan of iPhoto specifically because there seems to be categorical inconsistencies. At first it seems iPhoto conveniently groups newly imported photos as a new event... but sometimes you'll see it separately them by day, other times it'll group all the new imports together. Often times it's different depending on the camera you use but to get consistent results so far as how they are imported I find with iPhoto it's always too late before I realize it's chosen a different way to group. Also, in the past I've had issues where iPhoto changed the dates of my photos. And inconsistencies of if it changes EXIF data or just it's note of import date. It's hard to describe because I always realize it after the fact and then have to go through and figure it all out by hand...

Just tonight I noticed something else. I'm making some friends a CD with photos of us I've taken with my iPhone. Not an iPhoto CD, a CD that they can use how they like. I want to select the photos from events and dump them in a folder... but I found very often my iPhone has repeat names of photos (IMG_xxxx). Since there are 9999 numbers in this why is it that my iPhone sometimes goes back to 0? More oddly it seems it doesn't go back to zero but starts somewhere a hundred or so behind... I can't figure it out.
