Me and my brother bought iPhones around the same time and share a family plan. Both phones are updated to the latest firmware and neither are jailbroken. The only difference between the two phones is mine has terrible reception compared to the his even when the phones are sitting next to one another on a table. While service at our home is poor, he can at least has a bar where i have no service at all. Before calling applecare on the issue I'm wondering if they will cite the poor condition of my phone (spider crack across the screen) as a reason not to fix this definite problem. I don't want to send in my phone for a screen repair, the small cracks don't even bother me, I just want a phone up to par with my brothers. Think ill have any luck?

I had the same issue once. I had no reception and the other phone had three bars. I rebooted my phone and got three bars.

my first iphone had poor reception, I had no service half the time at work when my old SE on the same network had a steady three or 4 bars. Apple replaced phone, but it didn't have screen cracks.
