iPhone poor WiFi range?

Hi all,

How does your iPhone's WiFi range compare to that of your laptop? - My iPhone usually loses WiFi at places where my laptop (which has a good range) still shows 90% reception, e.g. having three walls to the AP within a brick building.

I tested it with 1.1.1 (freshly restored as well as unlocked) and 1.1.2 (only unlocked) with roughly the same results.

I would think the range of a signal would depend on the router (transmiter) and not the phone (reciever)

Yes, the signal is not quite as good as a notebook. But since it's a phone so I don't expect it to perform like a notebook.

I find the wifi on the iphone is really strong.
