My Iphone's power button on the top right isn't working at all. Everything else works perfectly fine. I usially lock my phone when I'm done using it but I can't.

I have tried..
Restarting my iPhone
Syncing iphone with my computer
and resetting the normal settings.

What else should I try? Or if you know the problem/solution please explain.
I'm using
:apple: Iphone - Version 3.1.2 8GB

I use a hardcase and It hasn't been dropped in water or anything. Even if it were exposed to water than that caused it is there a way it could be fixed?

And what is a DFU restore?

just out of curiosity, how did you try restarting the phone??

Yeah, I was wondering the exact same thing...

Anywho, if you're under one year of owning it, call up your closest Apple store and make an appointment to have them look it over. If they can fix it, they'll fix it, if not then they'll replace it. Best of luck.

The power buttons can fail because:

1. They are a domed membrane button which is quite delicate;
2. The wiring harness in that area is quite delicate and can break after numerous presses in that area.

Just unlucky.

I just had my wifes iphone power button replaced for around $30 thru an online repair shop. It was an iphone 3G out of warranty and didnt feel like spending $200 on an out of warranty replacement from Apple.
