iPhone X Iphone preorder questions

I have two questions about preordering the new iphone:

1) When on ATT, does your billing address have to match your shipping address? I just moved back to ATT and I know when I was with them years ago, when I preordered an iphone, the address that I had the phone shipped to had to match my ATT billing address. So if I wanted the new phone delivered on launch day, I had to switch my billing address to work. Does anyone know if that is still the case?

2) Can someone preorder the iphone and pick up in a store on launch day? How does that work? How long does it take? Can I make an appointment and just show and pick it up?

1. Typically AT&T pulls of your billing address off of your AT&T account. And I believe that is still the case. You can change the billing address on your AT&T temporary and after you receive your device, you can change it back.

Unless you decide to an in-store pick up, I don't think changing your address matters as you don't the shipping option when you choose pick up in store.

2. AFAIK, from my understanding, an account holder or authorized user will need to be the one pick up the device, unless there is an option to allow someone else to pick up. (I know with sim-free models, or other apple product, you can have someone else pick it up.)

I was curious about the store pick up option when preordering a phone. My issue is I am leaving town at 1 on the day I am assuming that the iphone comes out and I am one of those that always gets the phone on launch day. Is the store pick up a hassle? I could go pick up a phone as soon as the store opens, but I wont have the time to stand in line and wait for a few hours.

I am just weighing my options of picking up in store or maybe having the phone held at the UPS hub, which is 13 miles away.

I believe for in-store pick up, you can select the time you will be able to pick up, they usually have 2 separate lines. 1 for walk-in and the other line is for in-store pick up. There are no genius reservations that day I believe so All Apple Staff are helping with the sales. I believe that the in-store pick up line is a priority over walk-ins.
