iPhone question: I cant seem to get a clear answer...

I want to get the iphone but not use it as a phone. I have a good reason.

I pay $15 a month unlimited everything with sprint... I am no longer considered a 3rd party employee with them since the Compusa I worked at closed down. but i am still on the plan... that was almost a year ago...

Someday sprint will call me and tell me to switch plans... when that day comes i dont want to have spent 300 on an itouch and have to spend the additional 400 to get the iphone.

plus i want the camera features to send pictures to my dot mac account.

so here is my question.

Is there a 100% positive way to:

buy - activate - cancel (within 30 days) - and still use all the features of the iphone minus the phone.

i hear after every update you have to re-activate. is this true? does that **** my idea? if it isnt possible can anyone shed an idea on why its not?

Essentially I want it to be my new ipod ( i still have a mini right now)
i listen to punk music... its all only 4 GB... so space really isnt that big of an issue... 8gb is plenty.
i shoot a lot of HD video of skateboarding and whatnot.. so video
internet on the road (wifi)
and be able to send photos i take with it to my dotmac webgallery

and still be able to reacivate the service when sprint catches on.

Yep, I used mine as an ipod for a week before I had the balls to put a sim card in. In fact I don't really like the phone bit (though the sms is neat) and the cameras crap. But as a wifi video ipod it's the bollocks. I may even sell mine and just get a Touch.
