Alright i know that once you hit a hotspot the wifi should automatically pick up, and the top left corner should change from the E to the wifi signal. Well i am in my house which has wireless and ihave it all hooked up to my iPhone but the top left corner still has the E there. Does that mean that I am In edge and if so how do you turn off the edge network. By the way I checked the settings and the wifi is on and my wireless is showing that it is connected.

It seems like the wireless connection is probably unable to obtain an IP address. Check the DHCP Screen (settings, Wi-Fi, blue arrow button next to Wi-Fi name) and see if you're getting an IP from your router or access point. If not you may need to check the security/MAC address settings and get the iPhone really connected to your network.
