Ok so I'm currently a VZW customer and own a BlackBerry Storm. I hate the phone and just found out that because I get a 22% discount thru my job off my monthly bill I will be paying just about the same as I am now on VZW. I'm going to switch over and get an iPhone sometime next month. My question is, is there an app that is similar to what BlackBerry messenger is on BlackBerrys? I love my BBM and will hate to leave it when I get rid of my phone so I'm just curious.

Well, there are plenty of IM apps (I use Beejive, it connects to all the biggies like MSN, Google etc). I suppose that'd be similar... You can leave it running and new messages will be pushed to you, so you can open the app and chat.

BBM I've never used, but I understand it's some sort of messenger that has a cult following. I'm sure you'll find something to fill the void :)

The iPhone should definitely be a vast improvement over the Storm!

ok great thanks.. i was just on another topic and they were talking bout credit checks which is something i didnt even think about when planning this so hopefully i pass and do not have to pay something outrageous for a deposit or anything otherwise i will just stick with VZW. my credit isnt that great because of student loans and things.

As long as you haven't defaulted on Student loans they show up on your credit report as good.

I have student loans as well and not very much established credit and I didn't have to pay a deposit...

I think you will be fine

All carriers require credit check.

If you have a job you should be fine.

yes i have a job.. i didnt have to leave one when i got my VZW plan so hopefully ATT wont require a deposit either. Me and a buddy are going onto a family plan because i get 22% off my bill every month thru my job (if thats how ATT runs the program) because he'll be able to get the plan cheap for like $70 and change a month before taxes. Hopefully it all works out.
