I noticed a problem when using my iPhone 3g.
This has happened to me three times already.
It seems that my iPhone 3g randomly restarts itself when using applications. Is there a proper way to exit an application? because I just press the home button to exit an application. Not sure what's happening. Maybe I'm overloading the iphone's memory and causing it to restart? is that possible?
The last restart happened when I tried to open the phone saber application. Not sure if it's that program specifically but I'll definitely try to keep track of the programs that cause my iphone to crash.

anyone else experiencing this or have a fix?

ya same here. but remember that apps dont run in the background. once you hit the home button it closes. sometimes my apps freeze and the phone restarts. funny how this never happened on a jailbroken ipod touch. hold down the home button for five seconds and it kills the app.

i have had more bugs on this than my hacked ipod touch. silly apple

Same problem here, anyone know of a solution, oh is it just waiting for an update for apple? Tried restoring and got nothing

I think we are going to have to wait for an update...this is very, very common.

good to hear someone else is having the problem, googling is sooo cluttered up with the server overloading issues that I have not been able to find any other info on this. (reason for signing up here today)

I would honestly rather my iphone restart ever now and then, then give up the apps, voice dialing, games, etc, I am just happy to see a lot of them FREE :D :apple:

Yeah to me this is not too serious of a problem, just an inconvenience

I wouldn't say its not serious, as it may drive me to insanity  when I try to show my newest apps off and say 'checkout this!' and all they see is an apple :(.. but nothing we cant wait a little while for them to patch up.

within how long do i have to upgrade my iphone? I dont REALLY want to, sense my area (Green Bay, WI) is yet to have the 3G network, but I do want a discount, anyone know?

well i thought it was just going to be me because I usually get screwed over getting the defective product. Hasn't happened again since I posted it but I'm sure it will eventually. hope we see a fix soon!

It has happened to me approx 5-6 times since I've got the new phone too. Everything freezes for a short time, then blacks out and then you get the apple on the screen for a minute or so then it restarts. I'm glade its just not me too. Hopefully they will come out with a fix soon.

I took mine to the Genius Bar today and explained what was happening. I told him what I did to try and fix it and he said, "You sound like you know what you're talking about." and he gave me a new phone. Unfortunately, the same thing happened about 3 hours after I restored my phone. Hopefully and update is due soon. This is getting annoying.

Some apps are just poorly written. The phone sabre thing crashed my iPhone as did the bubble popping game.

Nonetheless, v2.0 is indeed a little sluggish. Notably, when opening the standalone Address Book, it takes a good 5 seconds to populate.

I'm sure they'll get things sailing smoothly within the next point release or two.

did the exact same thing as you... just got a replacement and it did the same dam thing!

i have the same problem with my 3G 8GB. It will Restart every time I exit apps or plug into the computer. I used the same IPSW on my 16GB 3G and works just fine.
