I've ordered a new iPhone and a new Macbook in the past 48 hours. According my Apple Order Status, my iPhone will arrive tomorrow and my Macbook will probably arrive 3 - 5 days later (after the weekend).

Should I WAIT until my new Macbook arrives before I sync-register my new iPhone? I really do NOT have any calendars or contact information to sync to my iPhone (from my existing computer) except maybe a small handful of songs on iTunes. As an FYI, my existing computer (that I would sync it to) is a Mac that I will not be keeping. I do not think I will anyway. If I can sync the iPhone to two Macs (with 2 different Mac operating systems)... maybe I will.

Also, along the same topic, my existing iTunes account has been used by me for 3 iPods and 2 re-installations of iTunes on 2 of my computers. I really do not understand the limitations of iTunes yet (re: how many installations and iPods it allows per account). So, I'm curious as to whether I should create a new iTunes account for my iPhone... just in case I'm getting close to any limitations iTunes places on these types of things. Honestly, I have only downloaded about $20 - 25 worth of iTunes songs... so it is not like I'm a heavy iTunes user. Most of my songs are from CDs I already own.

Thanks for any counsel on these two related topics!

The fact that you say "2 different Mac OSs" leads me to believe that you have Panther or earlier on your current mac.
Unfortunately, you need to have Tiger to activate the iPhone on a Mac.

This answers my question! I will wait until my new MacBook arrives... since my current OS isn't compatible with the iPhone.
Thanks!
