Posted this elsewhere but it has been buried...again. I'm starting to think I have a corrupt aTV database or something.

I have 80GB+ of music, all synced to my aTV. I leave the Mac off...

I'm getting incomplete results from the iPhone Remote app search feature. If I type in a keyword, several songs with the keyword in the title/artist/album appear, but not all of them. If I check in iTunes on my computer, not only is the song definitely there, there's a half dozen other songs with the same keyword in the title that didn't show up in the search results either.

The only way to get the search result I'm looking for is to type the full title, which sorta defeats the purpose of searching.

Something seems amiss. Anyone else? Can someone who has a large library of music SYNCED to the aTV please try this? (I think for some reason streamed music doesn't exhibit this problem.) Try typing the word "love" (chances are you have several songs with love in the title). See if ALL the songs you have with love in the title come up. Thanks!

Am I really the only one experiencing this? Or am I the only one with my whole library synced to the Apple TV?

Anyone?

Someone?

Pretty please?

Sorry, can't help you on this as I only use ATV for Movies/Shows mainly and always browse vs. searching.

One thought I had, could it be that the search feature limits the number of results that are returned? If not, then tryin restoring ATV to factory and starting over or report the bug to Apple.

Well, a B for your suggestion, but an A for replying. :)

My first thought was that there was a search result limit, but I've since done searches for more unique keywords, and the results are far fewer than words like love or summer (maybe 5 or 6 hits), but still incomplete.

all I can say is that the remote app is no where near perfect, it's crashed my :apple:TV at least 5 times, and when I click an episode on a video podcast, it never plays that episode, it plays whatever episode it feels like

I can confirm this bug as of July 10, 2009

The search results are not the same results as those displayed on iTunes.. on a subset for some reason.

I guess it's not a bug per se but if you enter the letter "e" for example which is probably in every title you have then should the iPhone display all the titles you have that have an "e" in them? They probably figured that it's too much info to send, even over a wifi connection.

I think they go by some weird algorithm that reduces the number of returned hits.
