I currently own a unlock jailbroken iphone 2g. I got it wet about three days ago and it still will not turn on. What is the best avenue to get it repaired. Is it through apple or a third party website? I am thinking of http://www.rapidrepair.com/shop/apple-iphone-repair.html I believe they can upgrade the storage on it from 8 gigs to 16 gigs. Thanks for the help.

From these forums I've seen that Apple won't touch a jailbroken phone (I don't have personal experience). Apple's warrantee is one year (two with Applecare) so again I don't think you will have much luck. If my assumptions are correct a third party is your best bet.
Question: If you are on a contract anyway, is this the time to buy a new $99 3GS? I would be surprised if many repair options are that "cheap". There might be people interested in purchasing a non-functional phone for parts. Like the website you mentioned.
The other suggestions (putting in a bowl of rice, etc.) might brink it back if it isn't physically damaged.
This might make a difference. I just checked the water sensor thing in the Iphone headphone jack it is still white. Will this make a difference in repair cost? How much does it cost to repair a iphone damaged like this?
My understanding is that there is more than one sensor. Sorry, but I don't have any experience with repair costs other than a broken MacBook Air hinge.
