I just had an accident with my iphone today and it fell out of my pocket onto the road pavement  (YIKES!). The phone still works the same and the screen surprisingly has NO scratches from the drop at all! The back however, has got some chips in it that are not huge by any means...but there are a prolly 5-6 little ones.

After this happened I noticed that there was a bunch of tiny dust particles underneath my screen now!

If I took this iphone into Apple, is there any chance they would replace the phone because of the dust underneath the screen. When I had a 3g they replaced it once for me because of dust underneath the screen. I'm just worried that when they see the chips in the back of my 3gs they will assume it was because of the fall or accident.

Any ideas on what I can expect to happen? My appointment at the Genius bar is already scheduled for tomorrow.

Thanks!

People don't usually reply to useless threads. You will find out today. What's the point in asking the future of your particular situation here?

eawmp1, you just contradicted yourself. You responded, didn't you?

To the OP, simple. Just try your luck. If the Genius replaces it for you, great, if not, sorry, tough luck and learn to deal. Just don't make a big fuss over the scratches on the back.

I actually think you have a good chance of getting it replaced...but then again it's up to the genius...be sure to update us on what happens!
