Saturday's issue of the Toronto Star had a column on the iPhone. In the very last paragraph it comments that "...Apple is expected to sell the iPhone in Europe later this year. Sales in Asia are expected to begin in 2008. There are no plans to offer it in Canada yet, according to various telecom websites."

What are these telecom websites reporting this because I, and others I am assuming have heard that it WILL be available in Canada in a short time; even sooner than Europe and Asia.

I have heard that Apple will be partnering with Rogers in Canada, just as AT&T was with Apple.

What is everybody else's take on this?

It will come to Canada, just no official word from Apple or Rogers on this yet.

Looks like Rogers is trying to charge people at least $100/month for a horrible plan...like 250 minutes, no weekends, 25 MB data.

I read that there's very little competition in the Canadian carrier space, so there's no downwards price pressure for plans.

Looks like Canadians might not get the iPhone then.
