Not that it matters too much for me, but I was wondering for anyone that has every had their phone replaced through apple care if the phone they receive is new or refurbished.

I recently dropped my phone and scuffed up the side pretty bad on my IP12 Pro and paid the $100 (Apple Care +) to have replaced.

Apple stated they would be sending me a new iphone but when it came, it was in a generic “white” box (not factory)

the phone looks brand new and works flawless (so far) but i’m just wondering if they replace these with refurbished models.

Thanks

They are typically refurbished, but since the phone is so new, that is probably a new one. They always come in the white box and not retail packaging.

Like @Lobwedgephil said, they are generally refurbished models when they replace your phone. I shattered the back of my 12 yesterday and am waiting on Apple to send me a replacement (have AC). But it could very well be a new device as the the 12/Pro models are so new. Regardless, they'll always come in a generic white box.
