If you sync in iTunes, the latest versions of GarageBand will allow you to export a song to iTunes 7.5 or higher. Not sure if Garageband lets you import straight mp3s though...

I use the .m4a > .m4r method to get them, it takes a little more time sometimes but you can use pretty much any audio file and don't have to mess with Garageband too much...

Garageband will import MP3's fine.
 
Does anyone read the posts or search before posting? :confused: Sorry I see the same posts over and over asking the same ringtone question. Sorry dorliberty and all just find it wierd that the first few posts in the section sticky are about ringtones and have the answers you need. Good luck.
 
maybe its better if imported as an mp3 but garageband has an option under share as import to itunes as ringtone...takes the cut song and puts it right to your ringones on itunes. pretty simple and helpful
