So I got home from a 3 day trip to find that my wifi wasn't working. It showed all three bars, but I could send messages, check email, update news need or anything that required wifi.

I looked online and found that most answers were to reset network settings, I did that, several times with no luck, Then I reset my phone to factory settings and then backed it up to the backup I made earlier that day. Still, 3 bars but unable to connect. All the other devices in the house are working fine. I have ios 8.4.

Please help guys!!!!

Do you mean couldn't?
Something similar to this has happened to me before when my internet was down.

Are you able to connect to things via wifi that don't require internet access? I find this happens intermittently with my iPhone 6+, however I can still access things on my local server using wifi. I am yet to find a solution because it usually resolves itself after a while, so I just switch to using cellular data instead. My internet connection is fine at the time which leads me to think it could be a rogue setting on my modem, but I haven't had a play around with it yet. Have you tried resetting your modem?

Can you access the Internet from another WiFi device?
If so, try restoring the phone as new. If that doesn't work, get another iPhone. If the one you have is under warranty, take it to Apple.
If not: Can you access the Internet by plugging a computer directly into your modem?
-If so: The problem lies with your router. We can't necessarily help you fix it; you'll need to find someone familiar with your router's model.
-If not: Contact your Internet service provider.

My 6plus has this exact issue. No, it's not a router issue or an ISP issue. It's a phone issue. The problem is wide spread and a million fixes are mentioned all over forums, and none have worked for me.

Same here. All my other devices are fine. 3 smart TV's, laptop, iPad, and another iPhone. All connected to wifi. If I reboot my iPhone, it goes on for a hot minute then back to 4G. I go into Settings and wifi says not connected. I go in and click on my network and it's asking for my password?? Something isn't right. I'm still on 8.1.2, but I don't think that's an issue. It just started acting up this week.

I had this issue one other time with a different iPhone. Unfortunately I can't remember what fixed it or if it just started working again.

I had actually forgotten until trlyka mentioned it, but my 6+ asks for the wifi password repeatedly as well. It then fails to connect despite the password being correct and other devices connecting properly. It eventually fixes itself, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

I have a similar issue. While on cellular and wifi connected, my speeds are at 4g. When in airplane mode with wifi on I'm way faster and less choppy (like when watching YouTube or fb videos).....
