when my phone receives a call, the screen goes blank after about 4 rings. I have a 32gb white. As this is my first iPhone, i'm not sure if this is normal. I called my friend, who also has a 3GS but his screen stays on. any help would be appreciated.

If you have it locked when somebody calls you, the screen will go dark after the ringing session is done. I haven't let mine ring that long whilst I'm with it. Does the ringing persist after the screen goes dark?

Yea, it still rings when dark. i just tried using my room mates phone. When I hang up, the screen comes back on.

Other than the screen, everything works, correct?
You're still under your 30 days, so if you are worried about it, I'm sure the folks at your local Apple store would replace it for you. Erm... or wherever you bought it. :p

sometimes the screen goes black when you recieve calls because of the sensor but i heard its normal dont worry bout that ;)

i'm not really worried about it. just kinda aggravating when i can't see who's calling.

screen goes blank

also experiencing same problem with screen going blank you need to see who is calling, i have a protective case i wonder if that could be a problem, also when i switch the phone off at night and put it on charge when i disconnect the charger in the morning the phone is allready back on is that normal

I'm having this same issue. The screen goes black after 2 rings. It's continues to ring, but this is annoying. I'm on the hunt for a solution.

Some cases do block the promity sensor but i noticed the screen going blank long before i bought my case

Turn OFF the zoom feature under Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom: OFF

It's a bug of some kind with the Zoom. Turn it off, and the screen stays on during all the rings.

blank screen

cant find accessability in the general menu where is is it want to turn off the zoom you suggested
