Ok so I guess I have major OCD  but i just got an iPhone and noticed that on the right side of the screen the glass is below the bezel but it's flush on the rest of the phone. It seems like the glass dips in the middle on the right.

I was just wondering if this is "normal" and a lot of people have phones like this?

Yes, exactly the same here - the bezzle sits flush on the front of the iphone to the left but on the right (middle & lower part) the bezzle is higher than the glass screen, scraping against your thumb as you run it over.

Not as intended I suspect, & I worry that it makes it easier for moisture etc to gain entry under the screen. I will attempt to change it (from CPW in UK).

mine is like that too, but I didn't even notice it until I read this post actually lol. I have a side that looks like it could be some dust on the corner of the glass next to the bezel but I suspect it is a touch of glue. Not sure its a big enough deal to exchange though.

Well I showed my husband and after him commenting on how truly insane I am regarding my electronics ( I went through 3 macbook pros and 2 macbooks before I found one that wasn't yellow or had stuck pixels) I decided it really is not to the average person. I had him run his fingers over it and he could barely tell the difference so I don't think I'm going to bother with an exchange. Besides my iphone works great and the screen is amazing. Heck once I have it in it's case I wouldn't be able to tell anyway :p

Just so you don't think you're all going mad my iPhone too has something odd going on with the screen glass. Will see if any dust gets in and if it does will contact Apple.

For me the difference is so minor, you can barely feel it with your finger and its not very apparent unless your staring at it at an angle in the right type of light. Besides with some folks having their silence button fall off, I'm counting myself as lucky that everything works perfectly well. If the screen poses a problem down the road there is always Apple Care.

I have the same problem except on the left side of my phone, between the screen and the chrome there is actually a gap, where I can see light!! I took it in to ATT and the lady said that they couldn't do anything there, unless I wanted to pay a 10% restocking fee! I have the bodyguarz case, but I don't want to put it on for fear of that solution leaking in and messing things up, altough if I did put it on there, I think it would cover up that gap...any suggestions?

Yikes, you can see light under it? I would make an appointment to see a Genius bar. For me, its the upper right corner that the glass is higher just a tiny bit, you have to hold it up to the light flat to see the edge of the glass. Once its in a case thought it is covered. If you can see light, I would definitely take it in to the genius bar.

Here are pics of the light...not the best quality but it actually came out....
LasttimeatDisney043.jpg

The light is at the bottom

And now its at the top

As you can see this is a problem, and I want to fix it but the nearest apple store is an hour away....and ATT can't do crap for me. And NO its not reflection from the chrome, as you can see it isn't anywhere else around it and when i push in on the sides the light goes away.

for something that bad? yeah they had better. For everyone else with slight flush issues. I looked at my husband's thoroughly and at first I thought his was perfect and then on a second look saw that even his isn't 100% flush perfectly on all sides, his is actually a little more raised all around with some parts flush. I don't think its too big of a deal. If your screen looks good and it works good, I doubt anyone's is 100% perfect. ;)

I agree, they had better waive it...but they never have any in, so I can't get the chance to return it...I have 30 days though, and it works great otherwise, so i guess I can wait.

Same thing: lower right bezel is a bit extruded and not flush. Although I don't see light, it is annoying when moving icons to the next home screen and it's quite sharp.

I got mine at Fido. They're known for their over the counter exchange no questions asked thing, although they're most probably out of 16gb black right now..

I made an appointment with a Genius bar, now I just have to hope they have one in when I get there...or is there a way to reserve it?

Same problem - screen not flush with Bezel

I have the exact same issue with my iphone 3G - the screen is lower than the bezel by about a milimeter on the right side from mid way down the screen to the bottom right corner.
I had the same problem (only worse and was able to the apple store to replace it) with my 1st gen iphone.

As an FYI I have looked at a few iphone 3G's and about half of them had the same issue to varying degrees-
I did take the phone to an apple store and was told that "it was within tolerance" and I have to admit it is only slight (but still noticeable).

I guess I will get over but I do swipe left to right alot and I do hit the ridge...
