When Steve first announced the iPhone, he mentioned the iPhone screen only being sensitive to skin. Anyone tested this out?

if you have a very thin cloth (like the one that comes with the iPhone) you can make things happen on the screen without actually touching it.
edit: but you have to have your finger behind it...the cloth alone doesn't seem to make anything happen.

yeah this is because it is controlled by electrical impulses, where it emits and recieves an electrical signal through your skin. the only reason the cloth works is that the electricity can travel/jump the small distance of the cloth. if you watch the little demo of the technology behind the iphone on the apple site it tells this
Using the iPhone in the winter with gloves is going to be interesting...
I'm thinking that if the cloth works with your finger behind it, those thin winter gloves will be okay. The thicker ones obviously won't work, but who's actually going to try and maneuver around the iPhone interface with those on?
I knew there had to be a point to it eventually
I suppose people can just get those mittens with the removable finger part.
i wonder what buffalo bob would do when he needed gloves to use his iphone!
