b/c i still want to get used to the 3.0 features, maps, music etc .... but def dont want to run 3.0 on my phone which is my dev device. beta 2 would allow me to do everything, thats why im looking for it.

Install 2.x in a different location, and have Dual SDKs. Technically, you shouldnt be building for 2x at all from 3x. Since 3x is still in beta, Apple has said so themselves in their release notes since beta 1.
