Right off the bat I noticed the compiler is speedier. The iPhone simulator doesn't crash completely if there is a runtime crash in the application so the simulator stas open for you to continue using. Also there is a new Xcode template in Cocoa Touch, the OpenGL Application. I have yet to try it but so far I like how the SDK feels while coding compared to the first beta version. We have cerainly come a long way!

I just finished installing the new 2.0 Firmware and they finally fixed the iTunes store and DRM music capabilities issues.

Ah, how nice of them. Not only did they completely remove UIButtonTypeGlass (making custom button graphics, yay ), but Beta 5 still doesn't seem to want to let me run any built and signed applications on my device. Nice use of $99...

I just got into the program and paid my dues last week in Beta 4. I tried to put a simple hello world app on my iPhone to see it in action but it didn't work. I created my certificate and everything in Program Portal and I keep getting an error. I cannot remember the error right now but if memory serves it dealt with the signal to/from the iPhone and XCode. Before this Beta in version 4 I was able to put SQLiteBooks sample app on the phone and run it without issues or even without adding my device to the Program Portal (completely my mistake for that and I figured it out this time when Beta 5 FW didn't activate and confused me silly :)). I still cannot get personal apps to work on my iPhone so there must be something with the way they are managing object messaging or possibly they are using a more complete in-house compiler that does a more thorough job then we are getting in our seeds?
