Hi, maybe this has already been discovered. But, I am running the most recent iOS 14 beta on my SE 2020 and I am able to expand notifications on my Lock Screen and Notification Center using Haptic Touch. I am happy to have it back. Has anyone else noticed this running the beta on their SE 2020?

Yes works on my SE2020 also

I wonder if this is an oversight since ios14 is in Beta still? Or if they plan to unlock Se2020 users and allow them to have this option

Both the 7 and the 8 currently support this feature
Haptic Touch on notifications on lock screen and in Notification Center (in iOS 13)? 3D Touch is supported, but not Haptic Touch for some reason.

Haptic Touch was introduced with the iPhone 7
On devices like iPhone 7 and 8 3D Touch works on notifications on the lock screen and Notification Center, while Haptic Touch doesn't seem to work in those places for some reason.

Was Haptic Touch on Lock Screen and Notification Center enabled in the most recent iOS 14 beta or has it been available since beta 1?

You’re right C DM! Apple threw around the haptic word and led to the confusion with the 7/8.

bballers has the important question!

besides the SE, the XR, and 11 lineups haptic touch’s support long press in the lock screen, why the SE is getting this now, we don’t know

actually it was the XR which introduced Haptic touch

your thinking perhaps of the Taptic Engine, which was first introduced in the 7 lineup😁

Can anyone confirm this feature is still there after the beta 6? Are we getting back the ability to Haptic Touch our notifications on the home screen? Thank you.

Here's the thing though. If you have an iPhone 7 or 8 and turn OFF 3D touch, you can't pop into the notifications anymore. It's not like it changes the method based on if you have 3D touch on or off.

So I think it was a mistake because they took away 3D touch, but they forgot to change the code so that haptic touch worked there.

Well, they didn't take away 3D Touch from the devices that support it. But, yeah, if it's disabled on those devices then Haptic Touch doesn't work everywhere where 3D Touch would work, which is kind of strange. That said, seems like iOS 14 might be addressing that.

I don't remember but I thought I noticed this came back in Beta 5
Seems like that's the case (this thread was posted when beta 6 wasn't out yet). Although it's not really that it came back, but more that it finally started working there on devices where it wasn't before.
