So, getting Headache / Eyestain from OLED iPhone's is common for some people. Getting this kind of problems with the iPhone 11/XR is something less known, but getting it from the new SE 2020 is something new..

I used the 5, 5s, 6, 6,7 and 8 without any issues.
Then i bought the 11pro, 11 and now the SE 2020 and i experience something like headache directly..

If this is true we can remove some potential reasons

PWM
Face ID

Temportal dithering
Processing of the display

Anyone else who is experiencing this with the SE 2020?

hey bro I am having headaches as well I think with the iphone SE 2. Are you serious about this bro? If yes, we might be same situation. Let’s discuss further and hear some opinions about what to do next, brother? Migraines you mean one sided headaches?

I got Samsung galaxy s20 and sold it off due to PWM causing me headaches. But I can’t believe it, iphone SE 2 causing headaches.

you can dim the brightness..remove display enhancing features. i experienced this and turned the settings off. but the thing is weird..its like the eyes cannot accept some type of electromagnetic wave. apple should consult eye experts before experimenting/building on new tech.

You should read up about this issue that only effects OLED screens before going on about “experimentation”.

The issue is real but also only effects a small percentage of the population.

LCD screens are not affected though. There is nothing different with this screen over older devices.

In the case of iPhone SE it would seem somewhat strange as OLED isn't involved.

Indeed: the tech used in the SE 2020 is somewhat “Old School” and certainly nothing new or different.

the color tones became acceptable to me.

maybe people can fiddle with the display settings to make it more acceptable to them? or determine if they have an eye condition with regards to usage of a specific type of phone screen that affects their vision.

I think the issue is the stronger cellular antenna. The iPhone SE 2020 uses a Gigabit Class LTE vs LTE Advanced, as in older iPhone models. I can confirm I had to return iPhone 11 due to onset of headache like issues. Went back to my 6s with no issues. I believe the last model to have Advanced LTE was iPhone X.

I can also confirm I had to return Samsung s20 due to headache. Could not confirm if the issue was PMW, strong cellular antenna or retina technology.

I think you’re right. I’ve been using the iPhone SE 2 without any issues. I recently purchased the new iPhone SE 3 and I couldn’t use it without experiencing headaches along with vertigo and had to return it.
